A summer tinted with Spanish Rhythms
Designed as a weekly rendezvous on every Thursday in the summer period, the theme of the Classical and Jazz Festival 2010 will honour Spain, with its major composers from the XVII° to XX° century, as well as some composers from the many continents Spain inspired.
Performed by regional as well as international artists, we will wander across Catalonia, Aragon, Andalucía provinces etc…, through the greatest masterpieces and the most prestigious composers of that country over the centuries (De Falla, Albeniz, Granados, Scarlatti, Turina…).
The audience will be captivated by surprise rehearsals, chats with the artists, historical allusions between the composers and our regional memories... In the superb settings of the historical monument, the enchanting Mediterranean charm of Valmagne will do its work.
Each evening will provide the opportunity to discover, or rediscover, Spanish work, and the three different concert areas of Valmagne Abbey; its famous cloister, the actual abbey with its moving acoustics and its Auberge Inn with a more intimate atmosphere.
On the evenings of the concerts, why don’t you stop by the Auberge, in order to enjoy a few “tapas” and drink some of the better-known Valmagne wines? (Between 19h and 20h – Please book in advance).
