The Abbey of Valmagne is one of the must-see sites to visit in Languedoc Roussillon.
It was in 1139 that Raymond Trencavel, Viscount of Béziers, founded the Abbey of Valmagne on the commune of Villeveyrac, near Mèze and the pond of Thau in the Languedoc Roussillon.
From the 12th century to the beginning of the 14th century, it was one of the richest Cistercian abbeys in the south of France.

Abbey tours and wine tasting: Tuesday to Saturday from 2pm to 6pm.
Sundays and Holidays and bank holidays: from 10am to 6pm.
Closed on Mondays.
